Can't believe he is 3 weeks old already and enjoying his first Thanksgiving.

Here he is...he's eaten, been changed, and sleeping on momma. And I'm completely in love with him!

Happy Birthday Chase

Chase arrived at 4:30 am at 6 pd 2 oz and 18 3/4 in. He came in dramatic fashion. It seems his cord was wrapped around his neck and every time I got up to use the bathroom his heart rate would drop. After a couple of times of this, my nurse went into panic mode and I ended up having an emergency c-section.

The big day is here!

Here I am around 11pm on the 4th getting in a last snack. I had to check into the hospital that Wednesday because I was to be induced on the 5th. Chase had slowed down in his growth and my doctor wanted to take him at 37 weeks. This pregnancy has had its issues from the beginning. His birth was no different.

Here Chase is all snuggled up next to mom. He is 3 pds 4 oz. His placenta has moved upward. He has turned down into the correct position. Yay! All looks good. I have to go visit the special doctor one more time in 5 weeks to check his growth.

His full name is Chase Jackson Goddard

It's official, he is definitely a boy! This is him at 21wks 4 days. He is developing normally, however, there are two issues. First, the placenta is low-lying therefore the perinatal doctor wants to see me again in 8 wks. Second, his umbilical only has two vessels (should have 3). Fact: only occurs in 1 percent (lucky me). But doc says he looks good. Only concern would be a small increased risk of poor fetal growth.
